BIOGRAPHY
At present I work in the travel industry but have longed for trips further afield! I have one daughter, Lucy, who will be celebrating her 11th birthday when I'm on this journey.
I have always had an interest in sport and travel and this race combines both to the utmost degree. I am a qualified fitness instructor and marathon runner, hopefully this will help for the first 26 miles at least!
For me I have little knowledge or experience of what lies ahead; not many people do for an adventure to the Pole. I grew up learning about Scott and Shackleton and my interest was enhanced by Fiennes, Palin and Pen Haddow. I just know when I return this experience will mean so much to me and stay with me forever; that's what will make it so worthwhile.
